Nothing to do at home !!!

I have nothing to do at home, so i decided to take some movement from my favourite mecha " Dis Astranagant " Ultimate Attack " Ain Soph Aur ".... Actualyy the sphere in my hand is a torch shining into the lens of my camera !!! My friend more clever, use Adobe Photoshop to make himself become Goku, a dragonball main character !!!

The Dis Astranagant's ultimate attack. The Astranagant opens its chest to reveal the Infinity Cylinder weapon. Cobray mutters the term "Tetractys Grammaton" and summons the power Ingram had. Dis Astranagant then launches a full power beam using the power of Dis Lev that entraps the opponent in irregular area of the space-time continuum and then completely erase them from existence. One could say the attack is even allowing time to flow backwards to cause the imminent destruction of the opponent. Cobray's quotes include "Now return to nothingness, in the midst of this infinite light!". The words Ain Soph Aur, which mean "Infinite light" in Hebrew, are taken from the Kabbalah, where they are used to describe the creation of the Universe. It is commonly taken to be an ancient mystical idea of the Big Bang.

NSman parade commander for first NDP at Marina Bay

16 July 2007

In an ideal world, the parade commander for this year's National Day Parade (NDP) would be a 40-year-old National Serviceman (NSman) - tying in perfectly with the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of National Service in Singapore.

"However, the organisers took quite a while to search for a suitable candidate and found me instead," joked Lieutenant-Colonel (NS) See Tow Pak Onn (right), who is 49 this year.

The Brigade Commander of the 24th Singapore Infantry Brigade is only the third NSman to land the coveted post of NDP parade commander ever since the parade has been held.

After completing his NS liability in 2000, LTC (NS) See Tow signed up for the Reservist on Voluntary Extended Reserve Services Scheme to continue his service to the Singapore Armed Forces.

He is delighted to be selected as parade commander and is determined to put in the time and effort required to do the job well.
Getting familiar with the new venue and contending with the "openness" of the floating platform means he has to spend practically all his Saturdays at rehearsals and training, only reaching home at about 10pm, after debriefs have concluded.

Time spent driving in the car is also fully maximised as he practises his vocal commands while on the road.

"It is actually the only place I can really practice on a normal day," he explained.

"We don't have a studio and you can't really practice at home since you will disturb your neighbours!"

After his stint as parade commander, LTC (NS) See Tow hopes more NSmen will be given the opportunity to take charge of the parade in future.

"There's a close association between National Day and National Service as we are essentially celebrating our independence," Chairman NDP 2007 Parade & Ceremonies Committee, Colonel (COL) Lim Kok Siong, told PIONEER.

"When Singapore was thrust into independence in 1965, National Service soon followed as the first steps to building a nation. Where there was uncertainty before, people now come together, standing tall and proud as a nation."

The parade and ceremony segment of NDP traditionally showcases the precision and discipline of the participating contingents and this year, it will continue to be anchored upon the five pillars of Total Defence, as it retains the pomp and pageantry aspect through the Guards-of-Honour (GOH) and the display of colours.

The contingents will be entering the parade grounds from four tunnels under the seating gallery and merge into a three-pronged approach onto the floating platform.
Every inch of the platform - which is the size of a football field – has been measured so as to design precise manoeuvres for close to 2,000 people on parade. The military and Home Team contingents will form up the words "NDP 07" before morphing later into “NS 40” (pictured left).

With a smaller audience capacity and the clear segregation between the audience and the performers at the new venue, organisers have made it a point to increase the interaction and involvement of the public - those with and without tickets alike.

"With constraints, there are also opportunities to be found," said COL Lim.

"This year, the uncasing of the colours will be done at Suntec Convention Centre, with the GOH and the colours party leading some of the contingents to march towards the parade arena."

Another rare treat would be to have a full-view of the 25-pounders executing the 21-gun salute at the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort site.

"NDP is never just about the performances and how good the show is," pointed out COL Lim.

"It is about everybody coming together as one people and sharing feelings and experiences."

SAF Day Parade 2007

The Army's 1st Commando Battalion, the Republic of Singapore Navy's RSS VENGEANCE, and Republic of Singapore Air Force's 140 Squadron, have won the Best Combat Unit, Best Ship, and Best Fighter Squadron, awards respectively. In addition, 10 National Service (NS) units will also be recognised for outstanding performance during the last work year. President S R Nathan and Minister for Defence, Teo Chee Hean will present the awards on 1 Jul 07 during the SAF Day Parade at SAFTI Military Institute.

The annual Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Best Unit and Best NS Unit Competition, introduced in 1969 and 1993 respectively, recognise units that have distinguished themselves in the areas of combat readiness, operational proficiency and administrative excellence. The annual competition is based on a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation framework that charts a unit's performance over the work year.

The annual competition seeks to encourage the combat readiness of SAF units and its formations while promoting esprit de corps and camaraderie among its soldiers.

The Best Combat Unit

1st Commando Battalion won the Best Combat Unit for the 4th consecutive year and an unprecedented record of 21 times since the inauguration of the Best Unit Competition. Their dedication, esprit-de-corp, fierce fighting spirit and determination to strive for excellence have always bonded them as a close-knit unit. Leading the 1st Commando Battalion fighters to honour and glory is Commanding Officer Major (MAJ) Poh Boon Hock.

The Commandos are trained to conduct specialised operations, playing crucial roles in protecting Singapore's sovereignty. The Commandos are well- trained to strike behind enemy lines using airborne landings, helicopter assaults and sea landings. They are also experts in infiltration and reconnaissance operations.

The Best Fighter Squadron

140 Squadron has once again clinched the Best Fighter Squadron award for a record eleven times. Commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel (LTC) Vincent Leong Khum Keong, 140 Squadron which operates the F-16C/Ds, an advanced, multi-role fighter aircraft, provides vital air defence and interception against threats. The squadron also has a tradition of participating in the annual National Day Parade (NDP) flypast. The 140 Squadron is also renowned for its role in nurturing and producing the RSAF's Black Knights.

In the past year, the squadron performed with distinction in key areas such as Ex Hotshot, the RSAF annual competition for gunnery and bombing. The squadron also participated in two major detachments during the work year to Korat, Thailand, and received accolades from the United States Air Force (USAF) and Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) for their excellent performance in Ex Cope Tiger 07.

The Best Ship

RSS VENGEANCE has won the Best Ship Award for the second year running and third time overall in the Republic of Singapore Navy's (RSN) Best Ship Competition. Armed with a strong belief in excellence which is shared by all members of her crew, RSS VENGEANCE has consistently demonstrated her readiness in numerous operations and exercises, including those with foreign partners. Past highlights include the successful firing of her BARAK Anti-Missile System against two drone targets and excellent firing results during exercises.

Commanded by MAJ Lew Chuen Hong, the ship was also conferred the People Excellence award, which recognises ships that have placed emphasis on professional training, as well as on overall development of staff, thus training their crew not just in professional areas, but also beyond their immediate job scopes. This reflects the ship's strong belief that people form the foundation for enduring success.

NS Units

Among the 10 Best NS Unit winners, one of the most consistent performers is 6 Signals Battalion. The battalion has clinched the Best NS Signal Unit for the twelfth time since 1994. Under the command of LTC Nadarajah Loganathan, 6 Signal Battalion provides the communication support requirements of the entire division. Driven by their Motto, "Swift and Effective", the commanders and men have always displayed a high level of professionalism, teamwork and fighting spirit in achieving their missions. During their last mobilisation, 6 Signal Battalion achieved 100% turn out. These operationally ready NSmen have consistently performed well and have showed their dedication to the nation, by always giving their full support and commitment to in-camp training. Despite juggling family and work, these NSmen have shown their dedication to the nation's defence.
