WELCOME TO PLAYGROUND @ BIG SPLASH

Welcome to Playground @ Big Splash, a new exciting beachfront lifestyle destination, that is unveiled on the grounds of former iconic landmark “Big Splash” along East Coast Parkway.

Work on the upcoming lifestyle hub began in November 2006 and it is estimated to be completed at a cost of S$6 million. Spread over 300,000 sq ft, Playground @ Big Splash will feature a wide array of dining concepts and recreational amenities that utilises the verdant beachfront setting to its advantage.

The name “Playground @ Big Splash” evokes a sense of fun yet retains its nostalgic quality. Open all day, it is literally a playground for all ages and caters to different needs; be it a meeting place for morning exercise and breakfast, daily childcare, sporting amenities, breezy business lunch meetings or post-work evening entertainment. Playground @ Big Splash will also serve as an events venue, with various designated outdoor spaces which are ideal for sporting events, family carnivals, corporate functions, outdoor movie screenings, concerts and weddings.

Justin Tan, director of Seafood International Market & Restaurant Pte Ltd which manages Playground @ Big Splash is confident of this new project. He said: “The new complex comes at an opportune time where the local market’s demand is geared towards a more well-rounded recreational and lifestyle experience. This is particularly true in the east district where the local and expatriate communities are burgeoning.”

Established in 1976, Big Splash began as a popular water theme park. Key tenants over the years include Seafood International Market and Restaurant, fast food restaurant KFC and ex-popular nightspot Europa.

Visitors to Playground @ Big Splash also have a varied range of exciting dining options to choose from, such as Carl’s Jr. ®, KFC, Indian Times, 1 TwentySix, Sushi Tei, OldTown White Coffee, Mingles, Seafood Man, Starbucks Coffee and The Vista Bistro. More notably, Carl’s Jr. ® will be unveiling its biggest outlet with the first drive-through in Singapore and Malaysia, while the popular OldTown White Coffee, which originates from Ipoh, Malaysia, will introduce its famous white coffee for the first time here.

In addition, there will also be a host of unique and interesting recreational services targeted at niche sports enthusiasts, families and children. These include LilliPutt - Singapore’s first themed indoor mini golf course, Frisk ‘n’ Romp Kids’ Playclub, Nails Fetish, Kangoo Jumps (revolutionary rebound sport shoes), T3 Bicycle Gears, and Urban Inline (skating school).
