Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

Rating:★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Comedy
During the Chipmunks' benefit concert in Paris, France, Dave Seville (Jason Lee) suffers a severe injury, when Alvin (Justin Long) jumps on top of a scaffolding and a falling billboard sends Dave flying across the stage into some electric devices. After the accident, he is rushed to the hospital. Although he survives, he must stay for a few days to recover, so he leaves his lazy 21-year-old cousin Toby (Zachary Levi) and kind Aunt Jackie (Kathryn Joosten) in charge of the Chipmunks until he returns. Prior to the event, Dave had made arrangements for Alvin, Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) to go to school. But, at the airport, Aunt Jackie falls down some stairs and dies in the hospital, so Toby is left in charge. Little does Dave and Toby know, on their very first day at school, the Chipmunks feel like "Chipmunks Out of Water" with all the human students and bullies around.
Meanwhile, Ian Hawke (David Cross) (after the departure of the Chipmunks dealt him a serious blow) searches the world for animals who can sing and dance. He happens upon Brittany (Christina Applegate), Jeanette (Anna Faris), and Eleanor (Amy Poehler), the Chipettes, and cannot wait to make them famous, and get his sworn revenge on the Chipmunks. Although the Chipettes accept, they do not know that Ian lost his job. The Chipmunks meet the Chipettes and fall in love with them, until they discover they're on Ian's side, so they battle it out with the Chipettes in the Battle of the Bands to win $25,000 and save the school's music program. When the Chipettes find out they've been tricked, Ian kidnaps them but Alvin saves them on his motorcycle, and Ian fails again. Then, the Chipettes are adopted by Dave and change their last names from Hawke to Seville.

Went for the gala premiere ytd at lido shaw, the audience laugh and laugh while I didn't. Yeap, it's for children. But the review so far has been negative from the reception. No professional actors were hired in the making of this motion picture. Little kids will like it. The soundtrack is ichiban!!
