RSAF serviceman dies after collapsing during training !!! 12/6/08

An airforce regular serviceman died, one-and-a-half hours after he collapsed while he was undergoing jungle orientation training in Brunei on Wednesday.

20-year-old Officer Cadet (OCT) Clifton Lam Jia Hao, a pilot trainee with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), collapsed at about 5:45pm.

OCT Lam was given immediate first aid treatment and was attended to by a doctor and a senior medic. He was evacuated by helicopter at 6:32pm to Ripas Hospital and arrived 10 minutes later. The doctor and senior medic continued to resuscitate OCT Lam en route to the hospital. OCT Lam was pronounced dead at 7:20pm in Ripas Hospital.

MINDEF and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late OCT Lam. MINDEF will assist the family in their time of grief and is investigating the incident.

It is the second death in two days involving SAF men in training. On Tuesday, 20-year-old army recruit Andrew Cheah Wei Siong died after he fainted during training on Pulau Tekong.

Just found out that Clifton is one of the ex-student from Seng Kang Sec ... From 1E5 to 3E5...My IT friend send me the link of his friendster, while i was browsing his profile... Shock to see that he mention Seng Kang Sec at his profile !!! My deepest Condolences ...
