Blasting off on 27-29 June 2008, the first-ever Singapore Toy & Comic Convention will feature a host of toys (general and designer), comics, animation, gaming, design, licensing and Cosplay from creative minds from all over the world, serving up an eye-popping visual feast and unprecedented variety and innovation in all the closely-related industries.
With exciting free giveaways, competitions, meet-and-greet sessions with acclaimed artists from around the world and much more - the inaugural Convention promises to bring the best of East and West together in one single, fun-filled event.

A large blank panel will be turned into a collaborative artwork by the visiting artists of the Singapore Toy & Comic Convention 2008, and will be on display at the entrance of the Convention from Saturday, 28 to Sunday, 29 June.

“Droid Hunt”

“An escape pod has been jettisoned and landed at this Convention! Droids carrying these plans to the rebels must be stopped. Assist your Imperial Forces in tracking down these droids. Descriptions will be posted in all Imperial News Holos. Participants caught harbouring these fugitive droids will be hauled to the nearest Imperial Detention Facilities for questioning. You will co-operate without fail!”

There will be different pictures of various droids in different colours (i.e. C3P0 and R2D2s). From 2:00 to 3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, Imperial Troopers will be searching for these droid tags throughout the event and will be stopping to interrogate conference participants if they are the droids in question. Once you have been caught by the Imperial Troopers, you will get a prize in exchange for your droid tag!

“Guess-the-Winners” of Singapore Polytechnic Toy Design Competition 2008

Open to secondary school students, the Singapore Polytechnic Toy Design Competition 2008 involves designing and graphically customizing toys. Three design categories include Flying Toy, Autodesk® Inventor™ and Trexi.
The Singapore Polytechnic booth will showcase its Toy Design Competition winning entries from three design categories. Design posters, working models, prototype models and video will be on display. Secondary school participants will drop their forms in respective boxes of the winning entries for the exciting “Guess-the-Winners” contest, which will take place prior to the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 28 June, at 1:00pm.

"Gundam Caravan"

LEGO® Build-A-Brick Competition

The LEGO Build-A-Brick Competition will call on Upper Primary students from all across Singapore to showcase their creativity, talent and imagination at the Convention, by building “Icons of Singapore” entirely out of LEGO bricks! Short-listed works by teams (of 3 – 6 students) will be showcased at LEGO Singapore’s exhibition space, and attractive prizes will be given to the team with the most innovative reconstruction of any “Icons of Singapore”.
